Sally + Ryan turned from clients to friends so quickly this past year! I feel like we will use the word “originally” so many times this year, because like most couples they had to pivot their wedding plans for 2020. They originally were going to get married in Seattle at Dockside at Dukes (side story- they named their golden retriever puppy Duke!) with tons of friends + family! When they made the decision to cancel the big event, they landed on getting married at their family property in Priest Lake, Idaho with only immediate family and their significant others.

We were excited for the adventure, and drove the 6 hours to the cabin and were immediately welcomed in like family! We couldn’t believe how kind everyone was, and the day flowed so naturally! The ceremony was on the dock, and we had the most beautiful overcast lighting. The neighbors let off a cannon right after their first kiss, which was such a fun surprise! After they signed the license, we did family photos and some portraits before heading to the resort for the reception at Hill’s Resort at Priest Lake.

The staff were all close with the families so it felt like an extension of the wedding party. One of the best parts was that there were 4 PUPPIES at the reception- we were in heaven! Duke was there with his two siblings, and another family member brought their puppy. The 20 person/4 puppy ratio should be required at events from now on if you ask us! We are so thankful to know this amazing family, and have gotten together for puppy play dates + game nights since this weekend! We did more driving in 2020 than ever before, and we loved getting to travel a little bit for these smaller events!
